Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine covers a wide-ranging area of medicine providing long-term, comprehensive care in the office, hospital, nursing home and rehabilitation unit, managing both common illnesses and complex problems for adult patients.

General internists are trained in the essentials of primary care internal medicine which incorporates an understanding of disease prevention, wellness, substance abuse, mental health and effective treatment of common problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous system and reproductive organs.  All internists are trained in the subspecialty areas of internal medicine including emergency internal medicine and critical care.  Care by an internist is characterized by extensive knowledge and skill in diagnosis and treatment by the humanistic qualities of support, sensitivity and compassion and by personal commitment to patients.

Mid-Level Provider

Most of the time, our doctor's time is booked solid for several weeks into the future. When you need to see a provider right away for a physical exam, diagnosis of routine illness and injuries, follow-up care for pre-existing conditions, treatment of minor injuries, including suture care, patient education and preventive health care counseling, then turn to our Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C.
