Neurology

Neurology is the medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system.  Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the typical Neurologist will attend four to five years of additional training following medical school in order to learn about Neurology.  These additional years will be spent studying internal medicine plus two to three additional years as a Neurology resident.

Neurologists commonly treat patients for headache, stroke, seizures, multiple sclerosis, dementia, muscle weakness.
